Two business resolutions that could save you hassle in 2017

It’s that time of year again. The holidays haven’t quite passed us by, but you might already be considering your 2017 resolutions. While health, fitness and personal productivity are all great goals for the New Year, don’t forget to set some resolutions for your business. Here are two resolutions that could save you a lot of hassle in 2017 if you stick to them.

The first resolution is technical in nature. As you go forward with setting up your business or managing an existing business, resolve to pay more attention to digital security. If you have employees, create privacy and security policies and take time to educate everyone on how they can protect themselves, the company network and the brand.

Security is a growing concern as more business owners and operators access networks on mobile devices, so make sure you have a way to manage all your accounts without exposing your network. One expert recommends using a password manager to keep track of all your log-ins.

The next resolution is legal in nature. Just as you must protect your digital assets, you have to protect all of your assets and your brand legally. This means using a critical eye when reviewing contracts and legal documents. You might need experienced assistance keeping your legal issues in order. There’s not really an app for that, so consider reaching out to a legal professional.

We hope you are able to take time at the end of 2016 to enjoy celebrations and family. Once 2017 hits, though, be ready to hit the ground running with your goals and resolutions.
