Teen kills 2 in Colorado 2-car collision

by | Apr 21, 2016 | Car Accidents

Some drivers don’t take into consideration how their actions could affect others. It’s hard for some people to realize that one mistake won’t just be a mistake that could get them into trouble with the law; it could lead to severe injuries or fatalities for others. That’s what happened in this case in Colorado, where a teen driver killed two people.

The teen driver has was charged with a DUI after two people were killed in a collision with him on South Colorado Boulevard. The April 1 report states that the 18-year-old man has now been charged with and arrested for driving under the influence. Police did not say if it was alcohol that he was influenced by at the time of the collision.

The teen faces two counts of vehicular homicide for the victims’ deaths, one count of possessing a forged instrument, a count of reckless driving for dangerous actions, and one of driving under the influence. Right now, he’s been placed in the Arapahoe County Detention Facility on $50,000 bond awaiting his court date.

The accident took place when the driver of a sedan was turning left off Peakview and onto Colorado Boulevard. That’s when it was struck by the teen driver. Normally, turning in front of another driver would make the other vehicle be at fault, but in this case the other driver may have had the right of way. The teen had been driving aggressively when he got into the accident, the report claims, which is why he’s been arrested for the collision. In his vehicle, only one person was hurt, but both people in the other vehicle were killed.
