Car slams into school bus with children on board in Colorado

A terrifying accident left multiple people with injuries after a small white car plowed into the back of a school bus that had children on board. Of the nine students who were riding the bus, on their way to school just before seven in the morning, three of them were injured in the wreck. The accident also left two adults with injuries.

Fort Collins runner injured by car driven by careless driver

Drivers who are negligent, distracted, or reckless can wreak havoc on the roadways. Other motorists and pedestrians are at the mercy of drivers who don't obey the laws or pay attention to their driving, as these drivers can cause car accidents that may have life-changing consequences for those involved. Sometimes the accidents and the injuries they cause are minor, but a legal professional may still need to be involved to be sure that any injured party receives compensation for damage, medical bills, or possibly even pain and suffering.

Driver Jailed for Fatal Fort Collins Car Crash

Car accidents can turn families' lives upside down, especially when they lose a loved one. That became clear recently in Fort Collins when an innocent passenger lost her life in a fatal crash. The driver is being held responsible, although police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the car accident.

Trucking regulations appear to be working

In our last post, we highlighted the massive accident that occurred on I-25 in Denver. While a fast moving snow storm was the likely culprit behind the accident, authorities explained to the media that it could take days to reach the actual cause. In all, 104 cars were involved in the crash, which stretched over a 1½ mile stretch of highway.

More than 100 cars involved in giant I-25 crash

Motorists in Denver were involved in a massive pile up that occurred on I-25 between Logan Street and University Boulevard. According to a Denver Post report, more than 100 vehicles were involved in the crash that shut down the northbound lanes of the interstate for more than four hours. Also, traffic was at a standstill for more than a mile leading up to the initial crash site.

Are high drivers as dangerous as drunk drivers?

If a person smokes a joint then gets in his car to make a quick run through a McDonald's drive-through, is he putting other drivers in danger? Or is driving while under the influence of marijuana safe compared to drunk driving? This is what officials in places like Colorado, where some level of marijuana use is legal, are trying to figure out.

Fewer older drivers killed in accidents

A number of our blog posts have focused on the development of crash avoidance technologies that are poised to change the way people drive (and avoid accidents). We also suggested that these changes were made in part to attract a new class of buyers (older drivers) that would not usually purchase a new car at such an advanced age.

GM reportedly knew about ignition switch defect

It appears that the massive recall General Motors recently issued is only the tip of the iceberg when considering the widespread liability it could be subject to. The recall involves hundreds of thousands of Chevy Cobalts built between 2005 and 2007, along with Pontiac G5s built in 2007. The defect involved the ignition switch in the cars, where the key could potentially fall out of the steering column if it was weighed down by a heavy key chain.

Jimmy John's could be liable for car-pedestrian crash

Jimmy John's may be known for its "freaky fast delivery" of its famous sandwiches, but after an accident involving a delivery driver and a pedestrian, the sandwich franchise may have to reconsider its moniker. According to a recent report by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the crash occurred in Morgantown, West Virginia, where a man who was walking his dog across a street was struck and killed by a Jimmy John's delivery driver.
