Ms. Yates, a litigation and appellate attorney, with Wick & Trautwein, LLC, focuses on complex litigation with a concentration on corporation, construction defect, intellectual property/trade secrets, oil and gas/mineral interests, and property disputes.

Ms. Yates is the former owner of a law firm, Colorado Children’s Law Office, LLC, a multi-disciplinary child welfare practice, and is a former partner of Anthony, Nicholas, Tangeman & Yates, LLC.  She served as in-house counsel for In-Situ, Inc.

Ms. Yates received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Wyoming in 1997.  During her time at the University of Wyoming, Ms. Yates was a Wyoming Appellate Clinic intern which was the beginning of her interest in appellate practice.

Ms. Yates is passionate about appellate work, having participated in and argued numerous cases before state supreme courts and federal district courts.

Ms. Yates was admitted into the Order of Barristers in 1997.

Ms. Yates is frequently a guest lecturer at Colorado State University on topics ranging from constitutional rights, child welfare law, appellate decisions, and the Rule of Law in medieval Europe.

In her free time, Ms. Yates enjoys bird hunting, fly fishing, fly-tying, white-water rafting, and traveling.
