Two cars were involved in a rollover wreck that landed multiple people in the hospital. The accident happened on West Drake Road, which is in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Reports indicate that a Ford Escape was coming up behind a Jeep Grand Cherokee just before midnight. The Escape did not stop in time, and it rammed into the Jeep. This spun both vehicles around, and then they flipped over, ending up with the tires in the air.
One man was trapped inside the Jeep, and the emergency response crews had to extricate him. He did have the least serious injuries, though, as the driver of that Jeep was more seriously injured. The driver of the Ford was actually thrown from his car in the accident, and his injuries were the most serious of all.
All three people had to be brought to the Medical Center of the Rockies, which is located in Loveland.
The road was a mess after the wreck, with the mangled vehicles, parts that had been thrown off of them and even a light pole that had been hit and knocked down all scattered over the pavement. Pictures show the Jeep, with its headlights still on, lying upside down in the wrong lane. To get all of the people to the hospital and clean up the road, authorities closed the street down until about six in the morning.
Nothing has officially been announced yet, but the police think the driver of the Ford may have been speeding and driving while under the influence.
