One dead, others injured after Colorado Springs crash

by | Jul 15, 2014 | Car Accidents

A crash in Colorado Springs has claimed one life, while others who were involved were injured and taken to the hospital for treatment. The accident was reportedly between a motor vehicle and pedestrians who were near the road. The full amount of injuries is unclear at this time, but it has been reported that at least three individuals were hurt, along with the one who was killed. The injuries were reported to be serious.

The crash happened at around 7:30 in the evening, and the road had to be shut down as a result. The major accident unit, which is connected to the Colorado Springs Police Department, began an investigation into the crash. They worked late into the night as they gathered evidence and put the incident together to determine exactly what happened.

It appears that the wreck happened where Bijou Street and Murray Boulevard come together, as police eventually blocked that intersection. However, they also closed down some of the lanes on Platte Avenue, and the lanes running north on Murray were blocked near Lionstone Drive.

It is imperative that Colorado residents know all of their rights and legal options if they are ever involved in car accidents that are not their fault but that nonetheless leave them with injuries and expensive medical bills. Regardless of whether or not they have insurance to cover these costs, they may be interested in knowing that they could have a right to seek compensation from the at-fault driver so that they do not have to pay and so that their insurance costs do not increase at all. Those who have lost loved ones in a car accident may also have options that they can explore.
