This is a truly tragic accident that shows how quickly car accidents can result in the loss of a person’s life. In this car accident in Colorado, one man was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, and now he’s gone. He has left behind friends, family members and a young son, reports state.

If you’re involved in a crash like this one, it’s important to recognize how the reason for the crash can influence your case. In this accident, reckless driving is the primary concern, and it could result in different charges than if this was truly and accidental crash.

The report from 9 News claims that the accident, which happened in the afternoon on June 14, occurred near East 112th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard in Thornton. It was there that witnesses saw the accident from start to finish; a 27-year-old man in a 2008 Dodge pickup was moving quickly on Colorado Boulevard and struck another vehicle as it pulled out of a shopping center.

The 27-year-old man had swerved prior to hitting the truck, but in doing so, he hit a Honda head-on. That Honda was carrying a 23-year-old man who was working as a pizza delivery driver. The victim did not survive his injuries, but he is survived by his wife and a two-year-old son.

Police have reported that the man driving the pickup has been arrested for vehicular homicide. He also faces charges for reckless driving and had no proof of insurance at the time of the report. Police are still investigating the crash, and toxicology reports in this case have not been released to the public.
