Overview

Kathryn is an Attorney with Wick & Trautwein, LLC. She joined the firm in 1985. Her practice focuses on all areas of family law, including divorce and related issues such as maintenance, child support, contested custody, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and adoption. In addition, she has a very active mediation practice and has been conducting mediation in Northern Colorado since 1996 after completing mediation coursework in Boulder, Colorado. Kathryn has successfully resolved hundreds of cases involving all types of family law issues, always striving toward an equitable settlement, if at all possible, but proceeding to litigation in the event a fair resolution cannot be reached by agreement.

Kathryn graduated from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in 1981. She had double majors in English and news-editorial journalism, with a minor in history. She was a dual matriculant from the College of Arts and Science, and the College of Education, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science. Kathryn earned her Juris Doctor in 1985 from the University of Denver College of Law. While in law school, Kathryn was a member of the Law Review and is a published author in the field of family law.

As the former President of the Larimer County Bar Association 2010/2011, and a Larimer County Bar Association executive committee member for many years, Kathryn believes in giving back to her community. She works with many non-profit organizations, serves on numerous boards of directors, and volunteers extensively throughout the community.

Kathryn and her husband, Wayne, have been married for 29 years, and have 3 children. Their oldest daughter is a 2007 Boettcher scholarship recipient and is currently in medical school. Their son is a college student majoring in Music. Finally, their youngest daughter is a 2014 Boettcher scholarship recipient and is now starting her college education.
