Colorado Springs man dies in accident between motorcycle and car

by | Jul 11, 2014 | Car Accidents

Police have reported that a man in Colorado Springs was involved in an accident in the afternoon, on a Tuesday in late June. The man was riding a motorcycle when he was hit by a car, and he passed away from his injuries. The man was 48 years old at the time of his death.

The accident took place just before 5 in the afternoon, and it happened at the intersection where Research Parkway and Chapel Hills Drive come together.

The reports indicate that the crash occurred when a man in a Jeep Wrangler slowed and turned left across Research Parkway. He was turning out onto Chapel Hills Drive. The man on the motorcycle was driving east, going in the opposite direction as the Wrangler, also on Research. The Wrangle struck the motorcycle as it crossed the lane.

Officers did close down the road in the wake of the accident so that they could do an investigation. They say that they are still looking into the crash at this time. One piece of information that they did release is that the man was wearing his helmet while riding his motorcycle.

So far, no citations have been reported and the police have not determined an official cause for the accident.

When someone is hurt or killed in a car accident with a motorcycle, that person’s family needs to be aware of their rights and the legal actions that they can take if they would like compensation for medical bills, the loss of a loved one, and things of this nature. Of course, with most car accidents, they will need to wait until the police investigation is finished so that they can know who was responsible for the crash.
