3-car Fort Collins crash leaves 5 with injuries

by | May 23, 2014 | Car Accidents

Traffic in Fort Collins, Colorado, got a bit slower on May 18 when a traffic accident blocked lanes and caused backups. The crash itself involved three different vehicles, and five people were injured as a result. For two of those people, the injuries that they suffered have been said to be serious.

The accident occurred when a sedan, a truck and an SUV collided when the sedan, which was driving on West Horsetooth Road, tried to turn left onto Manhattan Avenue. This was about 11:30 in the morning.

Police said that the sedan turned into the traffic, indicating that the lanes were not clear when it tried to make the turn. At this time, that appears to be the cause of the accident, as the two vehicles traveling in the other lanes then struck the car.

The serious injuries were to those driving in the SUV and the truck. There were three people in the sedan, and all were injured, but their injuries were deemed to be minor. Everyone involved was then transported to the hospital in Fort Collins, which is known as Poudre Valley Hospital.

Police then had to divert the traffic to another road for the cleanup efforts and the investigation into the crash.

Car accidents often lead to injuries to those who had nothing to do with causing the crash. When this happens, those who were hurt need to look into their compensation options, as there may be legal ways for them to get the money that they will need for the resulting medical bills and other damages.
