No divorce for Kobe Bryant and wife

by | Jan 24, 2013 | High Asset Divorce

The divorce process is never an easy one, especially when there are a large number of assets involved. A high-asset divorce can be quite a lengthy process. Sometimes during that process, a couple is able to find common ground and move forward without the need to divorce. Such appears to be the case in one high-profile divorce situation.

Our Colorado readers may be interested to hear that rumors of reconciliation between star professional basketball player Kobe Bryant and his wife, Vanessa, are true. The NBA star and his wife filed for divorce in December 2011 after being married for 10 years. Recently, both Kobe and Vanessa posted on social media that they were, in fact, reconciling.

Rumors had been flying about a possible reconciliation when the couple was seen together recently, and Kobe confirmed the news on his Facebook page recently. His wife also confirmed the fact by posting about it on her Instagram page. The couple has two children and state they are excited to be moving forward as a family.

While Kobe and Vanessa were able to reconcile, this is not always the case, and a high-profile couple needs to understand that high-asset divorces involve complex negotiations to properly and fairly divide property. Such divorces often involve real estate, property interests, business assets and even offshore accounts that must be valued and divided. Hence, couples with many assets need to research all of their rights before entering into divorce negotiations.
